ECO SUSTENTABILITY
We sell products through research, development and innovation, taking Nature as a source to provide quality solutions for personal care and beauty. Commitment to the environment: every day we help to care for our environment and surroundings by using environmentally-friendly and recyclable materials and containers and by being conscious of our social responsibility.
The ECOCERT seal guarantees that the products which carry it comply with the highest natural and organic production standards. ECOCERT is a body that was founded in France in 1991, which carries out certifications and inspections in over 80 countries, making it one of the most important organic certification bodies in the world. The current seal is a standard developed in 2003 for natural and organic cosmetics in Europe.
The COSMOS (COSMetic Organic Standard) certificate is a private Europe-wide standard. It was developed by five of the main certifying bodies for natural cosmetics, united in the COSMOS-standard AISBL Association, an international non-profit association registered in Belgium. The five founding members are the Soil Association (UK), Ecocert (France), Cosmebio (France), BDIH (Germany) and AIAB/ICEA (Italy). These organisations are responsible for authorizing and overseeing the certification.
Products that contain certified organic extracts offer the guarantee that these substances or extracts are grown following the guidelines of those who accredit them as organic. Certified organic plant extracts are organically produced. Therefore, they have been grown without using chemical fertilisers or synthetic products in soil fertilised with organic fertilisers and natural minerals, which boost soil life.
Products with this seal guarantee that they have undergone an independent clinical efficacy and dermatological compatibility test. The clinical test certifies that the product is suitable for sensitive or atopic scalps. Clinically tested cosmetics have been tested on humans under the supervision of qualified professionals and under a clinical protocol. The test result certifies that people with a sensitive or atopic scalp have used the product and obtained the expected results.
Natur Vital cosmetics are manufactured entirely using clean energy, helping to reduce their environmental footprint. Over 40% of the energy required to produce our products is self-generated solar energy.
The roof of the production and packaging plant is fitted with 148 solar photovoltaic panels, which generate electric energy for the manufacturing process. The use of solar photovoltaic energy reduces the emissions of NaturVital cosmetics, with an estimated annual CO2 saving of 16,000kg.
Our formulas are made with plant extracts and avoid using ingredients of animal origin or ingredients derived from animals. Therefore, we do not use ingredients derived from animals, such as collagen, urea or lanolin, in our cosmetics Plant extracts offer great alternatives to these ingredients with very good results on skin and hair.
Not tested on animals.
Our products are not tested on animals. In compliance with art. 18 of European Regulation 1223/2009 published on 30 November 2009, selling cosmetic products which contain ingredients or a combination of ingredients that have been the subject of animal testing, is prohibited. The Regulation also prohibits selling finished cosmetic products that have been tested on animals.
Products with 100% recycled PET packaging use a new recycled and recyclable bottle, which makes them more sustainable. The 100% recycled PET is obtained from a transformation process to reuse existing PET bottles. Our product bottles are made from Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET), a 100% recyclable plastic that can be recycled as many times as required.
Some NaturVital products use Bio-PET bottles. Bio-PET bottles are 100% recyclable PET plastic containers with 30% components of plant origin (derived from corn or sugar cane molasses). Using these containers decreases dependency on non-renewable resources, as well as increasing sustainability and protecting the environment. Bio-PET bottles offer high resistance to temperature, good mechanical properties, and their CO2 balance is much better than conventional plastics made with petroleum.
Naturvita Institute (Instituto Naturvita) is the company responsible for manufacturing NaturVital brand cosmetics; it contributes to preventing the harmful effects of CO2 emissions in the atmosphere, to help stop climate change. Therefore, our commitment is to reduce the CO2 used to manufacture our cosmetics as much as possible, as well as compensating for those which have not been able to be reduced, to become carbon neutr
